Faculty Bios

Gene Ahner currently works as human resources director of an electronics corporation in the Chicagoland area that manufactures, markets and distributes electronic products on a global scale.

Gene began his career in the academic world. He earned a master’s degree in philosophy and theology from the Gregorian University in Rome and was also a PhD candidate in theology at Fordham University in New York City. Looking for more engaging work, he entered the business world in human resources some 30 years ago, where he advanced to the director position and also served as Secretary to the Board of Directors.

More than 10 years ago Gene returned to the academic world as adjunct faculty at both Dominican University and Catholic Theological Union. He has since been teaching courses such as "Living the Moral Life," "Social Studies," "Humanities," "A Free Market Economy, Ethics and Globalization," and "Business Ethics." From the combined experiences of involvement in the practical world of business and the intellectual reflection of the classroom has come his book, Business Ethics: Making a Life, Not Just a Living. He has given major papers on the topic at Boston College, Seton Hall University and the University of Toronto as well as lectures to various interest groups. His approach to business ethics does not follow conventional approaches. Fundamental to his reflections is the conviction that "business not only can be but must be ethical to be successful in the long run."

Kesha Burch is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with more than fifteen years of professional experience as a therapist, entrepreneur and educator on psychological health. Her practice is a mixture of traditional office based clinical psychotherapy and a community based consultative practice with various Chicagoland agencies and organizations. Ms. Burch is a graduate of both The University of Michigan (Psychology) and Northwestern University (Counseling Psychology). Ms. Burch is committed to the training and education of high quality clinicians. She is an adjunct professor at Dominican University, a clinical associate and preceptor for the master's program in counseling psychology at Northwestern University's Family Institute, and a member of the Advisory Board for the Clinical Counseling Program at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Ms. Burch's clinical interests include health psychology, family crises, women's issues and the impact of culture on mental health.

Deloras Jones has a passion for supporting individual, team and organization development utilizing a collaborative change model. Her experience in Fortune 500 manufacturing firms includes distribution and after market in the consumer products and automotive industries, as well as with non-profits. She is a senior organizational development professional with a focus on end-to-end talent and performance management solutions who specializes in strategic large scale change initiatives. Deloras consults in the areas of diversity and inclusion, competency-based performance, and development programs linked to succession management systems. She has also designed strategic leadership development curriculum, aligned with systemic talent management and evaluation systems. She led and hosted the Hershey Co.'s first Women's Leadership Summit of 500 women leaders and managed other large-scale system wide change initiatives in the United States, Thailand, Brazil, Switzerland, England, Mexico and other international locations. 
Deloras earned a PhD in organization development from Benedictine University and a master’s in organization development and change from Bowling Green State University.

Linzy Waters, is the executive director of Waters & Associates, a consulting firm specializing in organizational development, change management, strategic planning, executive coaching, team effectiveness and diversity issues. He has worked as an internal (corporate) consultant, and an independent external consultant. A partial list of Waters & Associates' clients include: AT&T, First Baptist Church of Oak Park, Loyola University-Chicago, Organizational Psychologists, Soft Sheen, Inc., The City of Chicago, The Northern Trust Co., The University of Chicago Hospitals, U.S. Postal Service and Zenith Electronics Inc. He is currently a member of the faculty at DePaul University and Dominican University. Prior to starting his own consulting firm, Mr. Waters worked at AT&T in numerous management positions for over twenty years. Mr. Waters holds an MS in Organization Development from Loyola University-Chicago and a BA in The Management of Human Resources from Spring Arbor College, Michigan.
