Students in both the BA in Legal Studies and BA in Human Services programs can work toward a Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) degree while enrolled as undergraduates. To be eligible for the accelerated BA/MLIS program, students must be in good academic standing, have earned at least 90 credits and receive permission from their academic advisor and the Dean of Dominican’s Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS).
They can then register for up to 6 credits offered through GSLIS. These courses will count as electives toward the BA and can later be applied to the MLIS. Students should complete LIS 701 Introduction to Library and Information Science first and then may select another LIS course in consultation with their academic advisor.
Students who wish to pursue the MLIS must apply to GSLIS and gain acceptance."
